LIDAR is used for collect ing position and elevation data from a pulse scanning laser system flying in an aircraft. aircraft. The system relies on laser pulses for ranging, which can be emitted up to 25,000 pulses per second. The end result of the processing processing is a stream of high- density data relating to positional positional information over the target area.
