Nick Kuipers scored a pair and one assist. Brandon Cox also scored a pair and added an assist. Kevin Jackson had the lone marker. . . In league play Saturday morning, morning, Orono tangled with Scotia Bank. It was a close game for two periods till the bankers opened it up. Orono's offense retaliated with Brandon Cox opening the scoring assisted by Cory Weiss and Kevin Schoenmaker. Cox scored the second, assisted by Jon Devries Nick Lawrence rounded out the scoring assisted .by Chris Hermanscn. Brian Knapp, Cary Konopka, Jesse Lambert, Brandon Leblanc, and Kurils Zwolinski all played great! Pat Rempel started in net both games and was awesome. Armstrong IGA Peewees have strong week The Orono Armstrong IGA Peewees were undefeated this week. Orono picked up a win and tie over Bowmanville's Kwik Signs. Orono received some strong goaltending from Andrew Fudge and Mike Hisson. Tyler Skelton opened the scoring in the first game assisted by Garrett MacDonald. Adam Wood scored the second second unassisted. Garrett MacDonald rounded out the scoring with a beauty, assisted by Josh. Flynn. The final was 3-3. In game 2, on- Saturday with Kwik Signs, Ofono scored a narrow narrow 2-1 victory. This was an exciting game! There was great end-to-end action. Garrett MacDonald put Orono on the scoreboard assisted by Heather Maitland. Adam Wood scored the winner assisted by Garrett Wood. Brien Konopka, Mike Howe, Matt Bester, Scott Henderson, Justin Westerink, Cam Delorme, Reid McDonald, Greg Howe and Joey Robertson all gave a 100% effort. Stuff's Novice muscled off unbeaten path Game five of Stutt's undefeated undefeated streak took the team to Bowmanville on Saturday, Nov. 18, to meet with Durham Flooring. The team found themselves down 2-0 going into the third period. Thanks to Shawn Lowe's amazing goal tending and a third period goal by Steven Donadel, assisted by Anthony Bortolazzo, bringing the game to a score of 2-1. In the last minute of play , with our goaltender on the bench, Nick Kuijpers rushed to the opposite end and lifted one into tire net with Derek Snow assisting. A great effort for a 2-2 tie by Tyler Butt, Harley McLoll, ly Simpson and Stosh Fabricius. Sunday November 19, saw Stutt's Novice on home ice in Orono to meet with Continental of Bowmanville. Nick Kuijpers earned his first hat trick of the season with assists going to Jordan McDonnell and Anthony Bortolazzo. Great team playing playing by Chad Moore, Matt Puddicombe, Brian Dillon, Drew Rocha and Alex Shkuratoff. Unfortunately the team was plagued with injuries leaving the trainer and coaches busy on the bench and also unfortunately leaving the score at 6-3 for Continental. Orofio's Apple Blossom Shop started off their weekend by playing Halenda's M & D Meats on Saturday night in Bowmanville. Although Bowmanville started the game off with two quick goals in the first period, Orono's Daniel Hodgson soon evened the score first with help from Josh McGill arid Kevin Griffen and then later netted another with Cory Veloce getting the feed. Bowmanville then chalked up four more goals in the second period. Early in the third period, period, Brock McGill slipped one by their goalie, assisted by Hodgson. Orono's last goal was shot in by Brock McGill again with the assist coming from Hodgson. Tanner Johnston was super hot between the pipes but alas, Bowmanville won the game. _ Final score was 9-4. Great effort by everyone! Orono's House league Atoms did battle against Preston the Mover on Sunday evening at the Orono Arena. It was a very evenly-matched, well-played game. Zach Flood was the big shooter for Orono in the first period. Brock McGill assisted on the goal. With the second period, Brock McGill got his second assist on Daniel Hodgson's quick goal. Great team effort bÿ line members Chris Grant-Lupel, Kevin Griffen, Matt Mercer, Derek Rocha, Noel Snow, Coiy Veloce, Matt Fuller, Ben McKelvie, Josh McGill and Mitchell Harding. Orono's Atoms still hadn't seen enough ice time after these games, so the tearri decided to go on a road trip and ended up in snowy downtown downtown Millbrook on Mopday night, for exhibition play against their house league atoms. This game too, turned out to be a close match, between the two eager teams, however, the Apple Blossom Shop Atoms ■ did come away with a 5-3 win. Congratulations kids.
