Bowmanville, 905-697-9950 ■à- * % Dini Petty, Canada's best known TV talk-show host, and media journalist, journalist, will be at The- Natural Nut Health Shop in Bowmanville Bowmanville to sign her children's children's book and musical CD entitled "The Queen, The Bear and the Bumblebee." Dini, her publicist, and producer are offering their royalties from the sale of these items towards towards this event. Michelle Valberg will be present to sign her book "Dare to Dream, A Celebration of Canadian Women. " 100 outstanding Canadian women are photographed and featured |n this book, including Dini Petty. These are women who are driven by their dreams and inner inner strength and who devote time to enrich the lives of others. Michelle Valberg donates the proceeds from her book to The Diva Foundation, a Canadian not-for-profit, charitable organization organization founded in 1997. The purpose purpose of the Diva Foundation is to increase increase and foster the good health of ' women around the world through research, research, education and community based initiatives. . ' : # Hz The 1st and 2nd Orono Brownie Packs enjoyed their annual Bake and Craft Day, on Saturday, December 2. They were divided Into groups and moved from station station to station doing the various various crafts and baking. Some of the things we made were Rocky Road squares, Coconut balls and Fiddle Diddles. They decorated decorated Gingerbread men with icing, sprinkles and M & M's. They made crafts out of pine and spruce cones, a snowman snowman pin from a peanut, a bookmark, a funny Santa from pompoms and a wreath' from jig-saw puzzle pieces sprayed gold. They had a snack, played a game and sang Christmas Carols. Both Brownie packs have had a busy fall. They went on hikes at Brown Owl's house, where they diet Outdoor Exploring, : Environmental Appreciation and Water Outlooks. The 2nd Pack visited the Trillium Horse Farm. The 1st Pack recently visited the Orono Post Office as part of the Communication Outlook. They also enjoyed a Halloween Campfire party at Brown Owl's house. Our last meeting for this year will be our Annual Christmas Party. We are looking forward to a busy 2001. SILVANUS GARDENS CHRISTMAS CAROLING Do you get that tired, stuffed feeling after your Christmas turkey?
