Wow, what a day July 21 st was! We held our first "Kendal Summerfest 2001" last Saturday, and it was a huge success. If I were to pick just one attraction that people had the most fun at, it would have to be the dunk tank . A steady stream of people people lined up to dunk anyone who was willing to get in the tank. It seems that Jason Kearley and Devon Robinson were the two people who dunked so many of us. Gord Robinson, one of our sponsors wasn't on that seat too long before he. was dunked. A great way to cool off on a hot day. The younger children were thrilled with the Jumping Castle and lots of prizes were had at the Duck Pond. Karen Lowery of Terrens Wellness Centre had lots of jewelry and clothing as well aS offering Reiki, Reflexology, and Massage Therapy. Sandy Graham of Clarke Museum had an endless endless stream of people stopping by to play with toys that children children today have never seen. A very old version of a Viewmaster was also on hand. The winner of the 50/50 draw was Bob Robinson, the winner winner of the raffles were Karen Lowery and Mae Playford. Susan Milton won the Mary Kay basket. It was wonderful to see the community come together and help support our new Community Centre once again, thank you,to everyone who shared the day with us, and a special thank you to Sylvia Neal, without, her we would not have had this day. Over the next few weeks we will be organizing and planning out events and programmes programmes for the next year. After all it is your Community Centre, and we are here to serve the community. On Friday July 27th we will be holding our preteen dance from 7:00 until 9:30. We hope to see you there.
