Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, March 13, 2002 - 3 An early morning fire on Tuesday reduced the old Cobbledick bam on Cobbledick Road in Newcastle to a pile of rubble. A neighbour called the fire department at 2:30 a.m., but when firefighters arrived, the abandoned abandoned bam was totally engulfed. At the height of the blaze three pumpers, five tankers and 22 people were on the scene. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, three youths were seen leaving the scene at the time the fire was called in. The Heart Attack - Counter Attack information evening on Feb. 28 at the Community Centre was well attended. A team consisting of à paramedic, paramedic, a nurse, a heart attack survivor and a doctor spoke on everything from the first symptoms, to getting help, to hospital care and beyond. The evening was sponsored by the Senior Citizens (Pat Simpson is president) and was greatly appreciated. Tyrone and Enniskillen Churches bowled for Big Brothers and Sisters on Sunday.
