The event, to be held over the Victoria Day Weekend, May 17-19, usually attracts plenty of race fans. This year's Trans-Am contest contest promises to be as riveting as ever with seven different series and eight races. The feature attraction is the Trans-Am Series with their race scheduled to start at l :00 pm on Sunday. Now into its 37th year, the Trans-Am competition competition holds the distinction of being the longest running road racing series in North America. Competitions have been held at Mosport for 23 years. Following a thrilling first round a few weeks ago in California, Paul Gentilozzi, defending Mosport winner, leads the drivers' championship championship into Mosport. Also on the weekend schedule schedule are championship rounds for the Speed World Challenge (GT & Touring cars), Pro Spec Racer Championship, Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship, Canadian Formula Ford Championship presented by Deringer; Canada G.T. Challenge Cup and Kumho/Phoenix Formula 1200 Championship. Mosport SuperTickets provide provide free admittance to Mosport Speedway for Speedy Auto Service Saturday Night Stock Car Racing. Weekend camping is available available at a variety of locations around the track.
