Lowery is currently the convener convener for minor league soccer here in Orono. He thoroughly enjoys the game he started playing back in 1946 and which he still plays today with an old-timers league in Peterborough. Among the highlights of his soccer career, Lowery helped start the minor system in Orono back in 1974 and later launched a men's league which continues today. Lowery is humble about his lifetime contribution and says he certainly isn't in it for the attention. "You do these types of things because you enjoy them." He strongly encourages others others to get involved as coaches or volunteers. He can assure them the rewards are worth the effort. "It's great to see the kids improve," he notes, whether or not they pursue a c ireer in the sport in future. tnuji? iMff, ^54 Happy Hollow Gardens 5147 Patterson Road Orono, Ontario LOB 1 MO U Tel.
