4 - Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, June 12,2002 SPOR TS Ron Cowan took several wagon loads of passengers through the Orono Crown Lands Saturday morning during the 'Breakfast in the Forest' event. Crown Lands Trust members were thankful for the turnout, and wish to thank Mr. Cowan for his participation. Bike relay goes all day If riding a mountain bike on off-road trails for eight hours sounds like a great way to spend Father's Day, then the June 16 Crazy 8's Relay Race is what you are looking for. This popular team relay event is being held at the Alpha Racing course south of Bethany, with the first riders riders starting out at 9am and all riders finishing up by 5pm. As a team relay event, the race is very manageable for riders of all ages. The course is configured in an 8-kilome- tre modified figure eight loop. Riders can ride in teams of four or in the category category of corporate* which can include up to eight riders on a team. There are always a few hard-core riders who choose the tag team option (two riders spelling each other off) or the even more arduous solo ride.
