Wednesday, May 26, 2004 6 - Orono Weekly Times KonHai Fagles take two from Whitbv Chiefs. Kendal Eagles took twd from Whitby Chiefs in this week's baseball. It was a cold and windy night Tuesday, for the Whitby Canadians home opener, but the Eagle's bats came out hot. Kendal scored two runs in the first with hits from Bryan Landry, Chris Stark, and Rob Staples. Kendal starting pitcher Russ Hunt held Whitby scoreless scoreless in the bottom of the frame. Then in the second, Kendal Went back to work, putting up five more runs. In the 6th inning, the Canadians loaded the bases and threatened to take the lead. Manager Sharpe went to the pen in favour of Eagles veteran veteran Mike "Ned" Landers. Ned came into the game with nobody out and shut the door on the Whitby rally, striking out the first two batters he faced and getting the third to ground out.
