The Scugog Shores His- 1. torical Museum will be holding holding their 15th annual Pioneer Fall Fair Sunday, September 2. 26th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The museum village will be bustling with activity all day long. Craftspeople will be demonstrating everything from blacksmithing to basket-weaving. basket-weaving. Check out the power of an old-fashioned steam engine and observe the meticulous work of a typesetter typesetter getting his newspaper ready for print. Local craft vendors will also be providing providing demonstrations throughout throughout the day and will have a variety of unique items for .sale. Guided tours of our Ojibway Heritage Interpretive Interpretive Lands will be offered at scheduled times throughout the day. This exhibit area highlights a variety of native trees and plants used by the Ojibway for culinary, medicinal medicinal and spiritual purposes, and a wigwam, a traditional First Nations summer lodge. The art of bulrush weaving will be demonstrated as well. Kids will want to be at the starting line for the potato sack and three-legged race and won't want to miss testing testing their balance on the pioneer pioneer stilts. A craft station will give everyone a chance to express their creative side. New this year to the fall fair is a visit by a local chapter chapter of the Military Reenactors Society of Canada. The group will be setting up camp in the Museum village to demonstrate what life was like for Canadian soldiers during the war of 1812. Two military shows will be scheduled scheduled throughout the day. And our Fall Fair would not be complete without a little little competition.
