Rutherford, Administrator for the Clarington Museum, says the new regional history exhibit provides the story on the history and development of this area. The exhibit takes up three rooms on the upper floor of the Bowmanville museum and is part of the permanent display. Through photo murals and interactive displays, the exhibit exhibit traces the passage of Darlington and Clarke Townships Townships earliest settlers, to the Clarington we know today. The gallery has provided the museum an opportunity to put on display many artifacts that have been in storage for a long time, said the Gallery Curator, Susan Bosgraaf. Items such as Samuel Wil- mot's survey chain, which he used to map out the concessions, concessions, and Dr. Lydia Trull's mixing pot are now on public display. The Gallery was made possible possible by a sizeable bequest of Mrs. Elsie Lunney, co-founder of the Bowmanville museum. The grand opening of the new Regional History Exhibit will be held this Sunday afternoon afternoon from 1-4 with the official ceremony taking place at 1:30. On Saturday, 23rd October 2004, history was made when Past District Governor Terry inducted thirty-eight residents of Kendal and the surrounding district as members into the new Kendal Lions Club. Council Chairman Dan Davis presented the Charter for the latest club to join Lions Clubs International, to President Lion Jack McOustra. Among the honored guests was the Member of the Provincial Parliament, John O'Toole who brought greetings and gifts from his government. Guest Speaker Past International Director Gil Constantin! spoké about the history and roots of Lions International. He emphasized the importance, importance, weight and responsibilities responsibilities our membership of the new Kendal Lions Club carried carried both in our own commu nity and in the global Lions International organization. Attending the celebrations were Past International Directors, Past and Present District Governors, Council Chairs, Zone Chairs, Club Presidents and many other Lions and their partners from all over the A-3 District. All the guests had come to support support and congratulate the members of the new Kendal Lions Club in the spirit of Lionism.
