Leafs pressure cooker Wishing you all Peace. 1 joy and Happiness for the Holiday Season and the New Year. Ron and Carol Marty and Tina Tyler, Jack & Max NEWTONVILLE WATER SUPPLY The Leafs won a hard fought game in Omemee on Sunday night. The team got off to a slow start, but were kept in the game by the solid goaltending of Cooper Phillips. The Omemee Sharks were leading 2-0 going into the third, but the Leafs were putting on constant constant pressure. Tate Simpson put the Leafs on the board by keeping the puck in at the blue line and taking a hard low shot that beat the goalie. A few minutes later, Simpson went end to end and slid a shot on the far side past the Sharks goalie. The Leafs kept the pressure on and in the last 3 minutes of the game the line Pee Wee Reps on of Chris Third, Jarret Lane and Mitch Van Schyndel put one in'for the go ahead goal. It was a nice passing play with Third and Lane setting up Van Schyndel who put the puck over the goalies shoulder into the top corner. The Leafs were able to kill the last 3 minutes as Omemee put the pressure on. Copper Phillips made a few key stops and the defence of Ben deBoer, Owen King, Tory Manion and Tate Simpson held tight. The Leafs are off to the Wasaga Beach Silver Stick Tournament next weekend, where they hope to continue their solid team play.
