Polymer Extrusions "B" finalist at Bewdley Orono Atom Team #1 traveled to Rice Lake over the holiday's and advanced to the B finals. Polymer Extrusions got off to a good start facing off against hometown Rice Lake team with a convincing 8-1 win. In their second game they were up against Claringtoris Hutton Transport where Orono could only beat the opposition goalie once and took a 3-1 loss. In the championship game Extrusions took on a team from Oakville who scored in the first minute of the game. It was all they needed as they shut out the Orono squad. Goalie Evan Rosseau earned the team MVP honors for the final game. Scoring for Orono during the tournament was Mitchell Jackson 3g 2a, Jacob Dolley lg 4a, Tyler Rich 2g la, Jonathan Austin lg, Tyler Balson lg, Cavan Willsie lg, Landon Stutt la. Other players making the trip to Rice Lake were James McAlpine, Corey Peeters, Kohl Smith, Robert Herr, Cameron Lewis and Nicholas Rosamond. H.M. Stulls novice win big Allins Orchard's ripe for action On December 13th Allin's made their way to Mariposa, where the fans were ready for a good game, as this would be the two top teams facing off. Mariposa came out wanting wanting the win, scoring four times in the first period. Orono came back with a goal halfway through the second period. Devon Sutton earned the point, assisted by Brent Vanstone and Josh Moffat. Mariposa slipped one more puck past the Orono net- minder in the third, yet Orono managed to put another point on the board with 11 seconds left in the game. The goal was scored by Evan Moore assisted assisted by Cam Richardson. Final score was 5-2 for Mariposa. Allin's second game was on December 19th in Orono. Manvers came to Orono for the game. Both teams made it through the 1st period without scoring. Matt Moffat scored two goals in the second, both assisted by Greg Howe up from Scott Henderson. Devon Sutton finished the game off with one more goal in the third assisted by Mark Spiers. Orono's netminder held the Manvers Team off the board with a shut out. On December 23 rd Millbrook came to Orono. Once again Matt Moffat put the first two. points on the board, the first assisted by Sutton and the second assisted by Spiers. The third period had Spiers slam home one assisted by Sutton from Vanstone. Orono's netminders Alex Hart and Troy Webster each posted .a shut out in the last two games. Allin's participated in the Frankford Tournament over the Christmas holiday. Orono lost the first one to Kingston 5-1 and the second game went Orono's way with a 3-1 win against Woodville. The final game was for the "C" Division, against Campbellford. Campbellford came out the winner with a 2- 1 score. January started off with the League All Star game, representing' representing' Orono was Doug Garlick, Brent Vanstone, Josh Moffat and Scott Henderson. The game's opponent swere the North against the South. Playing for the North was Mariposa, Ops, Bobcay- geon, Beaverton, Sunderland and Woodville. Playing for the South was Orono, Newcastle, Millbrook, Manvers, Manvers, Omemee. Head Coach for the South was Orono's John Griffith. The game was excellent and won by the South 7-5. B.H. On their last day of the Christmas vacation, Stutt's Pharmacy Orono Novice Leafs hit the ice at 8:00 a.m. to play against Newcastle. Orono took the lead in the first period with goals by Mitchell Traschler (2), Jacob Diamond and Cameron Reilly. The second period, led by the strong offence of Elizabeth Jackson, Tyler Trimble, Jimmy Chaplow and Lucas Crosby, saw another goal scored by Cameron Reilly. The third period was just as strong with goals scored by Glenn Acorn, Jacob Diamond, Mitchell Traschler and Cameron Reilly. In their last game before the Christmas break, Orono played Bowmanville 7 and kept the game close until the third period when Bowmanville Bowmanville scored two unanswered unanswered goals to win 5-2.
