Newcastle Funeral Home comes alive in semi finals On Saturday the Leaf's headed to North Frontenac for game one of their OMHA semi-finals and continued their strong play with a convincing convincing 9-2 win. Tyler Webster continues his strong playoff run with three goals, Greg St.James had two, with singles going to Chris Lunn, Brad Olson, Brandon Cox, and Ryan Somogyi. With strong defensive play and strong goaltending the hometown hometown Flyers had no chance. This set-up for game two of the series back home in Orono on Sunday. The hometown hometown boys started off strong and never looked back while shuting out the visitors 5-0. Brad Olson had two for Orono with Tyler Webster, Carson Oninn. and Zack Young pot ting singles. Greg St.James chipped in with four assists and Brandon Cox had two assists. Ryan Brandt again came up with some key saves early and played solid for the shutout. The series continues this Friday in North Frontenac with a possible game four in Orono on Saturday at 5:00pm. Extrusions nets nine for playoff win Orono Atom Team #1 playoff record now stands at a win and a loss, after suffering a 4-3 loss ,to Clarington's James Insurance on Saturday in game one of their round robin series. Polymer Extrusions Extrusions rebounded Sunday morning to have its highest goal output this year by scoring scoring a' 9-2 decision over Clarington's Durham Regional Regional Police Association. In their first game Polymer had a 3-2 lead to start the third period, but were unable to hold on as James Ins tied the game early in the period then scored the winner with only forty seconds left on the clock for a 4-3 win. Scoring for Polymer was Jacob Dolley, Tyler Balson and Kohl Smith. Assists on the goals went to Mitchell Jackson, Tyler Rich, Jonathan Austin, Dolley and Cameron Lewis. In goal for both games on the weekend was Evan Rosseau. Polymer Extrusions had twelve players get on the score sheet in their second playoff game against Durham Regional. After opening up a first period lead of 4-1 Polymer Extrusions cruised to a 9-2 victory. Leading the way was Rich with : 2g-2a, Balson 2g- la, Colin Lamers lg-la, Austin, Lewis, Cavan Willsie and Nicholas Rosamond with one goal each, Dolley, Jackson, James McAlpine, Corey Peeters and Tandon Stutt with one assist each. The team next sees action against Clarington's Enrolnet on Saturday.
