Kendal Eagles Troy Foster pitches no-hitter Troy Foster threw a rain shortened no-hitter Sunday to sweep this week's series with their neighbours, the Port Hope Flyers. The Eagles travel travel to Port Hope Wednesday for the first game in the series. The game went into extra innings when the Flyers tied the game in the bottom of. the ninth, then Rob Staples hit his third home run of the night to give the Eagles a 10- 9 win. Staples also had 6 runs batted in. Shane Cowan pitched seven strong innings for the Eagles and Mark Foster picked up the win in the tenth. In the return match, on Sunday, rain threatened all game. It did not seem to bother bother the pitchers as the game was scoreless after five innings. The eagles erupted for four in the sixth capitalizing capitalizing on some walks and two key singles. Veteran hurler Troy Foster did not give up a hit going in to the seventh. Then the skies opened up and made the field unplayable giving him a no hit victory. Next week the crew travels travels to Cobourg on Tuesday, Markham on Thursday then host Kingston for a double header on Sunday starting at noon.
