6 - Orono Weekly Times Wednesday, November 9, 2005 Orono bantam reps "A" finalists The bantam rep team saw their first tournament action on October 22 in Rice Lake. Despite the early morning hour, Orono managed to beat Port Hope 3-2. In their next game they played Belleville and pulled off a 4-1 victory. The "A" Finals game was against St.George. Our boys ran out of steam and they had put all their extra effort in, but that was not enough for the win. The final score was 3-1. Orono finished the tourna ment as "A" Finalists. The goals of the tournament went to Chris Lunn (2), Taylor Vanson, Brandon Cox, and Ty Simpson. The assists went to Lucas Martin, Brandon Cox, Matt Puddicombe, Taylor Vanson, and Tyler Middleton, In regular season play, the boys were at home facing off against OPS on October 30th, and Orono swept them off the ice with a 5-1 win. The goals went to Bryan Knapp, Nick Kuijpers, Lucas Martin, Eddy Meester, and Taylor Vanson. The assists went to Carson Quinn, and Ryan Somogyi (2). Orono travelled to Millbrook on November 3, and tried to pull off a win but Millbrook's physical strength was too much for the Orono squad. Despite excellent goaltending, goaltending, Orono lost the match 3-1. The lone goal went to Lucas Martin and Taylor Vanson with the assist. Orono, at home, faced off against Sunderland on November November 6. The team scored two quick goals.in the first period, but Sunderland countered with five unanswered goals, as Orono spent too much time in the penalty box. The goals went to Ryan Somogyi , and Tyler Webster. The assists .went to Tyler Middleton and Taylor Vanson.
