A peddler is any person who goes from place to place or to a specific place with goods, wares or merchandise for sale, or who carries and exposes samples, patterns or specimens of any goods, wares or merchandise which are to be delivered in the Municipality of Clarington. Any person carrying on business as a ped- ler will require a Municipal Licence. The cost of the cence is $300.00. he Peddler's By-law also applies to chronic or continuous continuous yard sales, places where the yard saje never seems :o end. These properties end up creating parking prob- ems as well as disrupting the neighbourhood. Clarington does not intend to ban yard sales. The municipality recognizes recognizes that they are a useful way to dispose of unwanted goods as well as fun for those who frequent them. A Vlunicipal Peddler's Licence will now be required if a person person conducts more than 4 yard sales in a calendar year or if the sales are less than 4 weeks part. Any person conducting more than 4 per year or less than 4 weeks apart will require a separate Municipal Peddler's Licence for each week of operation of the sale or part thereof.
