District 17 OH A Newcastle Horticultural takes first prize i Submitted Article . . t ' On Saturday, April 29th, Ajax Garden Club hosted District 17 OHA (Ontario Horticultural Association) 2006 Annual General ■ Meeting. It was held at the Ajax' Garden Club, Carruthers Creek Golf Centre & Spa. In attendance were members from all over District 17 including Ajax, Brooklin, Bowmanville, Cannington, Newcastle, Oshawa, Pickering, Ux bridge. The show was alive with flowers and design arrangements that were to bë judged. Newcastle Horticultural Society began working on their design at the end of March-with the Planning Team (Jeany Barrett, Betty Formosa, Margery Freethy, Doug- Hobson, Narda Hoogkamp, Vicky Lesnick, Rose Pandy, Mary Thorley, Josie Welter and Theo Welter. Then, Adam Fleet- wood, Doug Hobson and Theo Welter, the construction construction team, got busy to create the" structure. The Design ! Team of Jeany Barrett, i Isobel Hart, Margery Freethy, Jean Shaw, Mary Thorley and Josie Welter worked on painting the structure placing the plants and garden accessories just so..
