This Saturday, (September 16) marks the final night for the 2006 PartSource present,. The Auto Workers Community Community Credit Union Saturday Night Racing season at Canada's fastest paved half- mile oval. After nearly five months of racing three of the four Mosport divisions will be decided on the final night. Fourteen points separate the top five drivers in the THORSONS EVT Six Cylinder or Less Division. The main battle here is between first place Peter Monig from Peterborough (99 points) and Port Perry's Paul Ryder (95 points) sitting in second. For both, this would be their first title at Mosport Speedway. In Bob's Towing Thunder Cars, Oshawa native John Baker Jr. finds himself atop the standings following a wild night last Saturday. Baker is only six points ahead • of Jeremy Gerrow from Lindsay and ten up on Beaverton's Donny Beatty. Beatty fell from first to third. Baker Jr. is the defending champion of the class and also has enjoyed a strong season in the Open Wheel Modifieds. Dwight Brown of Beaton has a commanding lead in the R.P. Oil Limited Open Modified division with 689 points, forty-one better than Baker Jr. and sixty-nine up on Brandon Meddick. With seventy-five seventy-five points available, Baker Jr. and Meddick are not eliminated but have a tall mountain to climb. The Super Car Show CAW 222 Limited Late Model Championship is already in the hands' of Gonnley's Mark Gordon, who has led. the entire season and chalks'up his third consecutive Limited Late Model Title. Oshawa driver Rick Boucher is second in points, only one point ahead of Todd Delisle of Port Perry. Another Oshawa native, Mike Poulton is fourth with Ryan Kimball of Norwood in fifth. Only seven points separate second to fifth. This Saturday is also THORSONS EVT Night at Mosport Speedway.
