Part of the process includes locating locating new fire halls where we can achieve the best response times. Back in 1998, we created full time fire service in Courtice which allowed for Courtice residents to have major savings in their home insurance due to having a full time brigade. Last year, we located Fire Services in a state-of-the-art facility with Durham Regional Police on Trulls road. This has resulted in many Municipalities looking at housing all emergency response under one roof. Now the time has come to address Newcastle Village. Our Fire Master Plan has targeted a new fire hall in Newcastle over the next 6 or 7 years, however, it is my position that this must happen happen sooner. Along with the construction of a fire hall that will house a full time brigade we are ramping up our fulltime firefight- • ers so fulltime fire services in Newcastle will become a reality and the residents will see a better response time and significant savings in their insurance costs. CULTURAL HERITAGE RESOURCE INVENTORY UPDATE The Municipality is in the process of updating the inventory of buildings and structures of cultural heritage value. These cultural cultural heritage resources are considered to be rare, unique, representative representative or early example of a style, type, expression, material material or construction method. The age of a building or structure does not necessarily determine if it should be included in the inventory. Buildings and structures that display a high degree of craftsmanship or artistic merit would also qualify. The Planning Services Department will be establishing a database database linking the photographic record to any archival records on file or obtained during the inventory update. To this effect, we are requesting public input into the completion of the inventory. If you are aware of a building or structure that should be recorded, recorded, and/or if you have historical information that you think may be useful, please contact Anant Patel at 905-623-3379, ext 334, or by e-mail at apatel@clarinaton.net or Isabel Little at 905-623- 3379, ext. 217, or by e-mail at ilitHe@clarinqton.net. 2006 FINAL PROPERTY TAX BILLS ARE DUE: SEPTEMBER 21,2006 METHODS OF PAYMENTS ACCEPTED From the Convenience of Your Own Home: Internet & telephone banking payments are accepted at most Financial Institutions.
