Mosport's final racing event of the year Mosport International Raceway wraps-up the road racing season, September 30 - October 1, with one of the most entertaining and affordable affordable weekends of the year the Mosport/CASC Celebration of Motorsport 2006. . This regional road racing finale, organized by Mosport and the Canadian Automobile Sport Clubs - Ontario Region (CASC-OR), will bring together several classes of racing, including formula cars, vintage cars and sedans, ranging from showroom stock to custom-built, tube frame GT cars. Complimentary weekend tickets can be downloaded from the Clubs' website at www.casc.on.ca (see the top right corner on the home page) or are $15 per person for the weekend or day at the gate. This weekend, admission admission tickets include camping and as with every Mosport race event, children 12 and under are admitted free. One of the weekend's highlights highlights will be the Ontario Formula Ford Championship (OFFC), which should" see a large entry with teams coming from Quebec and U.S. to battle battle Ontario's best. In addition to OFFC bragging bragging rights, drivers will also be competing in the first-ever, FonnulaCar Magazine Can- Am Cup, Hoping to follow in the footsteps of prestigious European trophy races like the Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy; the inaugural CanAm Cup will pit the best Formula Ford drivers from both sides of the border against each other. The OFFC Points Championship is already locked up by Ayre, ON racer Shane Jantzi, but there is still a .major prize that he and the other drivers have their eyes on this weekend - an Indy Racing League (IRL) Pro Series test with Brian Stewart Racing. Stewart , who won the 2006 IRL Pro Series Team title, is one of Canada's most successful and respected racing racing operations. The points system for this coveted testing prize is independent independent of the CASC-OR points battle, however it's still Jantzi who holds the lead going into the weekend. Most of the racers competing competing in this year's Celebration of Motorsport 2006 would be considered 'amateur' in status, but there is nothing amateur about the level of competition you will see at Mosport. In fact, several of Canada's top professional drivers spent their early years behind the wheel at Mosport regional races, including Ron Fellows, Scott Maxwell and Paul Tracy.
