4 Orono Weekly Times Wednesday, October 11,2006 Police asking for help Bank robbery suspect caught on video Durham Regional Police are' asking for the public's assistance in identifying a male caught on videotape robbing a bank in Clarington on Thursday. Images of the suspect are on our web site www.drps.ca under Media Release. On Thursday October 5th, 2006 at approximately 3:30 p.m., a lone male walked into the CIBC bank at 72 King Avenue West in Newcastle. The suspect indicated he was armed with a handgun and demanded money from two bank associates. The two female victims complied and placed a quantity of Canadian currency inside a plastic bag that the suspect produced. The male fled the bank and jumped into a white four- door car that was parked in the rear parking lot. The car drove off southbound on Mill Street towards Hwy 401. The suspect is described as a male, white, aged 20-25, about 6'2" tall, approximate ly 180- 200 lbs, with a medium medium build. He was wearing a navy blue fleece hooded sweatshirt, mask and sunglasses. sunglasses. He was driving a white four-door vehicle. Anyone with infonnation about this robbery is asked to call Det.
