8 - Orono Weekly Times Wednesday, December 20,2006 Showdown in Orono Saturday, November 25, was the battle of the Orono bantam hockey teams for arena bragging rights. Fred's Auto Body replied with a barrage barrage and six more goals. Tartan got one more back, to end the first period at 6-2. In the second period, rivalry continued continued with Fred's potting four more and Tartan with three to end the second at 10-5. The third period at 10-6 for Fred's Auto Body. Goalies at both ends made some sensational saves with Fred's stopper, Patrick LeBlanc faced some tough shooters and fast skating. At the-other end, roookie Tricia Ticknor made some dazzling saves to keep her team in the game many times. Both teams are on the upswing lately after slower starts. Leading the winning Fred's Autobody team in scoring were assistant captain Brandon Mathwich with three goals and four assists, Dustin Hinchey with three goals and four assists, captain Kyle Mathwich with two goals and six assists and assistant captain, captain, Brandon LeBlanc with two goals. Also on the. score- sheet were assistant captain Ryan Pratt with two assists, Trevor Hemming with two assists and Theo DeVries with an assist. Solid games were also played by Andrew Goldin The GTA Logistics win another game this time it was against Mariposa. Orono had won the game 5-2. The GTA Logistics Bantam Rep team had played a game on Saturday against Sunderland. Orono had came hard into the thrid pulling off a 6-2 victory. Orono won the game making sure Newcastle got the point with a score of 8.-2. Goals went to Tyler Webster(3), Sean Bargent, Brandon Cox (2), and Greg St.James (2 both unassisted).
