The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board is ready to welcome back over 40,000 elementary, secondary and adult students when school starts on September 2. "Our dedicated team of administrators and support staff have worked hard over the summer to clean and stock all classrooms and schools, making sure they are ready for students and teachers," says Dr. Avis Glaze, Director of Education. A person is entitled to be an elector in the Municipality of Clarington if he or she, at any time during the qualification period: resides in the Municipality of Clarington; is the owner or tenant of land in the Municipality of Clarington or is the spouse or same-sex partner of such owner or tenant; is a Canadian citizen; is eighteen (18) years of age on Voting Day; and, is not prohibited by virtue of section 17(3) of the Act. NOTE: Qualified electors may vote ONLY ONCE in a local election within a given municipality. Electors who own or rent more than one property in the Municipality of Clarington may appear more than once on the Voters' List and may, therefore, receive more than one VOTE BY MAIL KIT. The onus is on these electors to vote ONLY ONCE. The ballot must be cast in the Ward within which the elector maintains his/her permanent residence.
