Our medical system is saddled with the task of not only healing our sick, but also of serving as our figurehead to everything Canadian. It is an emblem of Canadiana, something we take to heart, and to our pillows, each night. As I see it, this view of our health care system system as somehow distinctly distinctly Canadian saddles saddles us with an inability to think outside of the box. To consider alternatives, alternatives, like market incentives, for instance, that may yet get us better better health outcomes, and a more sustainable system.
