Sutton potted the first goal from Dunham and Burt just 15 seconds into the first. Four minutes later, Garlick blasted one by the Highland goalie from just inside the blue line. As time wore down in the first, Allin tapped one in from Bangay, an important goal for Kyle which eventually turned into the game winner. With Orono up by three, Highland stormed the boys early in the second with two quick power play goals. The fans could see why this visiting visiting team occupies first place - they have one awesome awesome power play. A few good body checks early in the third slowed down the Storm, and there were a couple of great saves by Martin. Josh Moffat slid one in the empty net with 4 seconds left in the game to seal the victory 4-2. Wooden Carousel tries to buck bad luck Over the past week, Wooden Carousel's Atom team fired blanks against a Master Mechanic's team on home ice on the weekend. The Mechanics scored two goals thirty seconds apart in the first period and never looked back. Wooden Carousel pressed hard throughout the second and third periods only to come up empty on some great scoring chances. In the second game, Wooden Carousel travelled to Clarington to take on the Detox team. With no score six minutes into the game, Wooden Carousel knocked the puck into their own net, then only . a minute later Detox scored for themselves to go up two goals early. Carousel's only goal of the game came early in the third period scored by Matthew Howe with assists going to Benjamin Hinchey and Robert Brosseau. Goaltending this year for the Carousel team is being shared by Jonathan Austin and Robert Brosseau. Howe recorded a hat trick in the game versus Bill's Truck Shop. The team was playing short-handed for the second time in a week as the flu bug took it's toll on the team. Game one against the Kinsmen Club saw. gusty performances with only nine skaters available. Benjamin Hinchey was the goaltender and saw plenty of action between the pipes. With the Kinsmen up a pair of goals in the second period, the Carousel club had four glorious glorious opportunities to score on breakaways in the middle frame and came up empty. The Kinsmen Club put the game out of reach with another pair of goals midway through the third period. Matthew Howe scored a hat trick in a game that Bill's Truck Shop may have been leading on the scoreboard, but was one the Carousel team wasn't about to give up. Bill's got their first goal on the power play, and scored four more before the second period was over. The Carousel team got back into the game quickly with Howe's first goal at the end.
