Acoustics lose third playoff game Orono's Peewee Acoustics played some great hockey against Bowmanville's Subway on Sunday, but lost 4-3. The first period didn't look promising, Subway sunk two goals in Orono's net in the last two minutes of play. But Orono came up strong in the second, the forwards forwards converged on the net after getting a pass from defenseman Brian Knapp. Breanne Collier slung it to Chad Moore who took a wrist shot from the left side of the net and buried it over the . catcher. It was 2-1, and Bowmanville scored again, giving them back their two point lead. With four minutes left, defenseman Cory Weiss shot the puck up to Chad Moore on the left side of the net. He slapped it across to Simeon DeVries who stood ready by the right hache mark, nothing stood between DeVries and the goalie. He took the shot. The puck slid across the ice to the left side of the net. The goalie slid his left leg out, but the puck slid through the narrow opening between the blade of the goalie's skate and the steel ' post of the net. A minute later Orono scored again, with a nice pass from Ty Simpson to defense- ' man Brian Knapp who skated up and took a quick shot that flew so fast it was in the net before anyone could yell 'shoot'.
