The entertainment Saturday even- ing for the benefit of the Railroad Men’s Home was a success. as a show, though the audience. was not as large as it should have been. Messrs. Calamara and Peter F. Dooley were encored vigorously for their guitar and mandolin perform~ ances, while H. M. Prior's violin solo was highly appreciated Mr. Guilford‘s vocal solo was eneored, but he did not respond, nor did he appear in the second number. The chief attraction for most of the audi- ence were the feats of legerdemain by Signor Blitz in the second part of the program. That mystified the audience completely. It was what is known as the cabinet trickâ€"that is. fastening the performer to a chair with cords and ropes securely tied. and then he. while in that position, takes off one coat and puts on an» other, and throwing his tambourine. etc.. over the curtain to the judges. who were Messrs. Charles H‘ Baker. Charles H. Warren, Caleb W. Alâ€" dridge and Harry Guilford. This part of the entertainment was‘ the best. thing of the kind ever shown .here. It was so. good the people want to see it duplicated; hence there is some probability of having Signor Blitz here again in the near future with a similar entertainment. Dr. lngalls and several inmates of the Home were there and seemed to enjoy it immensely. H. M.. Prior's excellent orchestra covered themselves with glory, as is their wont these days. SIGNOR BLITZ.
