Win In an election marked by spirited voting for favorite candidates in south side precincts and a decided apathy in the north section, Waukegan town- ship on April t sent two new men in as assistant supervisors on the county board, selected Richard S. Barnum as town clerk in place of Charles E. Jack, and put Charles Druba into of- fice as constable to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Francis Beckman who was recently appointed state inspector of weights and meas- ures. _ Charles A. Armes was re-elected assessor without opposition, carrying a. total vote of 2264. George T. Spauld- ing was elected school trustee with- out opposition, polling 1555 votes while Arthur E. Radcliffe was elected school trustee to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of David A. O'Connor, who has moved his resi- denee to Evanston. The election in Waukegan township drew one of the smallest votes on record and had it not been for the support accorded south side candi- dates by their constituents. there would have been no stir at all.
