One group stuâ€" died the Pueblo Indians; the dther, the Wigwam Indians. Last year the children who were studying the Puâ€" eblos started a rug, made on a regâ€" ular Indian loom, with an Indian pattern, which they had designed, This year‘s group has finished it. For Christmas they made Indian bowls for their mothers, in both groups. The Pueblos made for their fathers, paperweights out of eggs with faces painted on them. The hair was black yarn. The Wigwam Indians made birch bark book marks for their fathers, and totem pole Christmas cards. Each child has an indian name. Six of them are White Flower, Singing Star, Silver Moon, and four boys: Spotted Eagle, Tonto and Chief Swift Foot. They have made books about the Woodland Indians. The stories tell about how they looked, where they lived, what they ate and some other interesting things, They had a room assembly and read their stories and had a little play. â€"Nancy Armstrong, Grade 6. Three Rocky mountain ranges have been formed and then worn away by the action of water during In the né{xt room I‘heard that they were going to make some Eskimo villages in the near future. They will make the villages out of salt, sugar, and flour which will form a pastyâ€"like substance. They will use sugar as their snow, The children were excited over the Eskimo vilâ€" lage that "is to be," and they are very anxious to start. : + Although I never realized it, snow flakes are very pretty when they are colored. ‘eosl | Do Not Run in the Halls f _ While going from your room to start home or to the basement or gymnasium, do not rin down the stairs as spon as you are out of sight of the teacher. It may cause an accident.| You may be badly hurt and have to miss school. When you came back you would have to "makeâ€" up" all the work you missed. Their school work isn‘t at all dull, for when I stepped into one room, I found myself lookâ€" ing at a free movie. The children had drawn the pictures theniselves, and then pasted them on sheets of white paper and then attached them together, ‘:tnk_ing them into one long reel. It was very good. Girls Oiglnize Hockey Team The seventh and eighth grade girls of Elm Place sckool have been anxious to organize a hockey team, therefore, |on Thursday, Jan. 16, they met on the Elm Place skating rink and were taught the essentials of the game. They were then diâ€" vided into two teams. The girls borâ€" rowed hockey sticks from the boys who rather reluctantly gave them up. The girls were very enthusâ€" lastic, and the game was started at once. Some, of course, became" exâ€" cited and got their sticks tangled up with their feet. Others tripped and fell on the puck. The score finally turned out to be 7 to 14..
