Another football game went into the list of futil endeavors Sunday afternoon as the Highwood Indians battled the Kenosha Coopersâ€"to a scoreless tie at the lake trom] stadâ€" ium in Kenosha. ; 4 ‘ Although the Indians were very much outâ€"weighed, Sunday‘s game was a moral victory. The Indiank have not been scored upon as yet and ri9pe to. keep up the good{"work. gcbfl at 2:30 p.m. ; THE PRESS Huge Program For Safety Week Will Open Here Sunday : Final arrangements to conduct the annual Highland Park Safety Week, proclaimed by Mayor William Dooley for the week be:ining_pct. 25, were made at a meeting Monâ€" day evening of the Highland Park Citizens Safety committee. The meeting was held in the Legion hall. ‘The program will be inaugurated on Sunday, so that the local clergy will have an opportunity to present the first message for this humane cause. | Although many new features are to be incorporated during the camâ€" paign, several of last year‘s plans which proved so successful are to be presented again this year. _( An elaborate program under the direction of Mr. Harry Bolle, has been arranged for Oct. 30, at the Highland Park high school. This program will not only ‘be devoted to satety, but will mark the beginâ€" ning of a special course in safety to be taught in the high school beâ€" ginning next semester. The Safe Drivers club, a student organization headed by Whitt Schultz, will: take part in the program and particiâ€" pate in the distribution of posters and literakure, which have been made available. j Commander. Miller Schreiner of the local Legion Post has appointâ€" ed a committee consisting of Wm. Heinrichs, Paul Webb, Harry Chamâ€" bers, Jack Davis, Henry Hansen, Arthur Swanson, Leslie Stanger, and Phil Cole to aid any, group or organization to present a safety program during the week and to drâ€" tribute pamphlets and posters. °; Motion : pictures | dealing with safety measures will be available to schools or organizations. L. Olesen and Mrs. Charles Mason removed the . first shovel of dirt in the construction of the addition to the Highland Park Woman‘s :club.‘ Mrs. Wilford C. Shipnes, chairman of the building committee, who ‘was to have perâ€" formed this duty, was absent from the city, and so the other members acted in her capacity. > The new addition to the club loâ€" cated at the corner of Sheridan road and Eim Place will cost apâ€" proximately $30,000 and will be of red brick with wood trim.
