- Description
- Taken on Friday, April 3, at 8:30 PM, in front of Pizzeria deVille. Ordinarily on a "First Friday" night, the streets would be lined with parked cars and, on this warmish April night, there would be people walking along. Here three people stand outside of Pizzeria deVille, waiting to pick up an order. You can see that the men are standing far apart, maintaining the recommended 6-foot distance considered safe. Pizzeria owner John Durning was one of the first restaurateurs to adapt and develop services that would allow people to enjoy their food while maintaining social distance. In addition to providing pick-up outside the restaurant, Pizzeria deVille began offering delivery. Their website noted that they would "place the food on your porch and we will stand back six feet or more to make sure you know it’s there and grab it."
