Our Bird House Contest (Grade 4B and 5B) About a month ago while we were| studying about birds, we decided to-- build bird houses. So we worked out, a plan and set Friday, March 23rd, for the exhibit. There were eight! boys and six girls that entered their houses. ~Most of the houses wer» Wren houses, and there were many kinds of them. There was also a bluebird | houses, a martin house, and a woodpecker's house. The first prize for the boys went to Earl Toll, who had made the martin house. The first prize for girls went to June Nelson. She made a very nice Wren house out of a cheesecl box. Second prize pent to Caryl| Frantz who made a Wren house too.| Mr. Bates was the judge of the con-- | test. Mr. Tarmeyer donated the: prize after the children had voted ; a dollar for each first prize and fifty cents for each second prize.
