PAGE TWO Mr. and Mrs. John Wirtz Sr. Cel--| ebrate Their 25th Wedding Anni--| versary. 8 s Sixty relatives, friends and neigh-- bors surprised Mr. and Mrs. John Wirtz, Sr. on Thursday evening, April 12 at their home west of Area, the occasion being their 25th wedding anniversary. The guests presented Mr. and Mrs. Wirtz with a very handsome set of silverware. Twenty--five American Beauty Roses was the gift to mother and father from Bertna and William. -T'M---V;éning was spent in ,playing cards. Honors were won by Miss Carrie Wirtz and John G._Wirtz. Mrs,; Minnie Schneider played sev-- eral beautiful piano solos. Following this refreshments were served and then the guests departed wishing Mr. and Mrs. Wirtz many more wedding anniversames Fred Stuckle left Wednesday for St. Louis, Mo. Albright was a Chicago As we travel westward thru the county we come to Osborne Farm, just west of Area. It is here that Mr. W. I. Osborne, the owner, has established the largest herd of pure bred Holsteins in Lake County. The nerd numbering sixty--four, is headed by the Butter Boy who has three thirty pound sisters, and whose sire has over 100 A. R. 0. daughters. Trav-- erse Belle Pontiac Butter Boy nim-- self has eight A. R. O. daughters with two year old records up to 17 pounds in seven days and over 700 pounds of butter in a year. It is seldom that one enters a barn and sees a sire with a large number of nis daughters in the same barn; but here we are able to find thirty--cight of the female offspring of the old of t bull. It is the owner's policy to make this farm pay its own expenses and show a profit; but at the same time be of real service to the farmers of the community.
