Number of reactors indemaified to date, 197 head. Total indemanity received _ In reviewing the records of our office for the past ten months we have presented our report with sat, Isfection in that we have ncooln} plished much greater results during the ten months than I had hoped for during the entire yéar. In the be-- ginning of our year's work, we were somewhat handicapped owing to the fact that our records were incom-- plete and naturally slowed up the progress of the work to some e@X-- tent. We managed, however, to keep the herds of the county tested promptly ~ in compliance with the regulations and have succeeded in maintaining a market for the dairy products of the f --mers of the county, with the exception of one ftarmer whose dairy products were not permitted on the market for one day; in this case the herd wAs immediately tested and reinstated. We have a complete set of neces-- sary and practical records oft each herd tested in the county. o s _ Ahat copper and loead may be con-- «Mdered as not forming alloys, the Ifligcll"mt coppéer will bold in solution being exceedingiy ' & regult, any form of interest tharg tng came to be regarded as a crime. _ Lake county has been eprolled under the accredited herd plan and is now a quarantine area against the importation of cattle within its borders. This phase of the work is very important and all rules and regulations governing this phase of work will be vigorously carried out with the view of preventing the re-- infection 6f herds and premises now clean and free from the disease. The importance of observing these reg:-- ulations must be strongly. empha-- sized and I| am going to ask that each board member co--opetate with my office seo that the necessary protection accorded the county's herds of cattle shall be respected, It is our plan to make a complete test of all the herds of the county starting ebout February 1, 1929, and testing all berds that have been tested for a period longer than 90 days. 1 have been given assurance from the state department that they would supply plenty of veterinar-- k- to make this complete test. All fected herds would then be retest-- ed in 60 to 90 days as result of the somplete test and by February 1. 1930, another complete test would be conducted. It is our hbhope that since the present infection of only t per cent can be reduced with this olan. and our county be placed on the accredited list of counties as be-- Ing entirely free from bovine tuber-- culosis by the early spring of 1930. L might state for the benefit of the members who are not fully in-- ftormed or acquainted with the re-- quirements of an accrédited county.
