Libertyville Independent YDF Lake County Independent -- Waukegan Weekly Sun e! . There are two angles of viewpoints to the plan of publi'shing' names of paupers, those receiving aid from the county. In the first place it's pathetic to tell to the world the names of those so un-! fortunate as to be compelled to seek and get aid; the other is that many times those not actually IN need, get county assistance and will continue doing so so long as the public generally isn't made aware of the fact. . Thus, the question that is paramount is: Is it better to advertise the unfortunates who MUST have help in order to HALT those Wwho get county aid and are not deserving of said aid? It has always been a noted question this idea of printing names of paupers. It never can be settled satisfactorily because there are two sides to the argument--a fact proved by the vote of the supervisors, 16 to 15 in favor of publishing the list. *# -- ADDITIONAL LOCALS * the new Titus Bros. building became stuck in the gutter just west of the village hall just before noon _tod_ay: The nice parkway in which Marshal Limberry takes such pride, was dam-- mged considerably. We don not know who is to blame, and are not disposed ot criticize, but it seems as if something could be done to put a stop to the incessant use of fire works on the streets of the village. Frank Eger says it's all wrong about who built that new sidewalk in '.hl; rear of his store building. That wa leads from Cook Ave. to his rear door | and is a great convenfence. Frank (or some one else) has put in some hard licks cleaning up the lot back of the store, and things look ship shape in that neighborhood. And the whole of lt.hll story has not been told. Today (Thursday) we learn that it was John Cole who started the ball rolling to get that particular back lot cleaned up, and, with the assistance of Bert Hall, filled in the Jlow places with nice gravel. It only goes to show that with the proper kind of leadership and to-- ! operation, many more of the unsightly Iplaoes of the village cay be made into spots of beauty.
