Description
Detachable wooden handles for Sad Irons were created to replace the regular metal handles, which would heat up just as easy as the iron itself and had the potential to burn people's hands through the layered cloth many people wrapped around them. It was patented in the U.S in 1870 but became popular in Canada in the beginning of the 1900s.
