- Ontario Car Ferry No.2 was one of the few vessels which travelled between Cobourg and Rochester, New York with passengers on board. These large vessels were chiefly meant for transporting coal but were also equipped to carry up to 1,000 passengers. At its peak this vessel transported a little over 73 000 people in one season. The Ontario Car Ferry Company ran for 43 years, until the beginning of the 1950s.
