Description
This bell belonged to a school house at Trent River which later became a private residence.
Notes
Bells in churches, municipal buildings, schools and workplaces were multi-functional; they called citizens together, warned of danger, celebrated events and kept track of time. In fact, until the late 1800s many communities had their own time system which could be as much as an hour different then neighbouring communities.
