Description
A $2 coin made to celebrate the heritage of Port Hope; a time period ranging from 1834 to what was then the present day (1984). On one side of the coin it says, “Port Hope” with a woman holding an anchor with the inscription “Spes Anchora Tuta”, which stands for “Hope is a safe anchor”. On the other side of the coin is the inscription, “1834 Port Hope 1984 Sesquicentennial. Good for one dollar in Port Hope. Expires Dec 31, 1984. 150 years”.
