Description
Jarko Zavi lived in the Cobourg area from 1946-1959. He was particularly noted for his use of local Ontario materials in creating new glazes. His contribution to the arts was recognized at the Sifton-Cook Heritage Centre in 2017 with a story panel (see: http://vitacollections.ca/cobourg-heritage-centre/3596524/page/3)
This piece was donated to the Cobourg Museum Foundation by David Batzold in 2020.
Notes
This piece is typical of Zavi's work. The accompanying horse is more unusual.
