- Notes
- In 1954 a small group of families met for worship at a country church in Wicklow. They were most Dutch and wanted to preserve their Calvanistic heritage. Some people from Trenton and Bowmanville joined and in 1956 instituted the Grace Christian Reformed Church of Cobourg. They moved into the old YMCA building, then later that year purchased and renovated one of the older building on the property of Hatfield Hall. By the mid 1960s the congregation was outgrowing its Queen Street facilities and in May 1965 they purchased the King Street East lot. The construction commenced in the summer of 1966 and although Christmas service was held here, the church officially opened on January 5, 1967.
