- Inscribed on the back of the original 5"x5" photograph is "which Bty - Hvy or IHFd? Cobourg, 1914 or ealier. Cob. Star 1833-48 - 7 reels in Ont. Archives. Likely C.G.A. Hvy Bty see Cobourg World 28 April 1911. Bty authorized to train with 16 draft & 4 mounted horses."
Inscribed on the enlargement: "Cobourg Heavy Battery, 1st World War, or possibly some years earlier. Likely 1911 - see Cobourg World 28 Apr 1911 where Major Odell, O.C. of Cob. hvy Bty was authorized to train the Bty with 16 draft & 4 riding horses. (C.G.King) - Date of Original
