- On Saturday September 25th, 1915, another fifteen recruits departed Cobourg for Kingston accomplanied by recruiting officer, Capt. W.J. Troop. The Cobourg Citizens Band and a large group of citizens accompanied them to the station for another enthusiastic send off. Those who were left were: Sgt. Jones, Jos.; Privates: Hutchison, W.G.; Brown, Ray; Martin, W.J.; Swann, D.W.; Cowan, Albert; McDonald, Thomas; Robosn, George - all of Cobourg - and J.S. Edwards of Colborne; Maddocks, F.; Weaver, Pte. R.; Williams, H.; Maltriot, H.; and Collard, W.- all of Cambellford. Richard Weaver- enlisted Sept. 13, 1915, Cobourg no. 455625, discharged Jan. 31, 1918, Kingston from the 14 Field Battery. This photograph was later included in Mr. Climo's book WWI Years in Cobourg.
