- Located on the east side of Division Street, south of the tracks. The original York Pharmacy is still located here. Cobourg's store was established in May 1956 by Seymour Pepper. After graduation from the University of Toronto as Pharmacist, Mr. Pepper purchased York Super Pharmacy which was located on Avenue Road in Toronto. Hence the name, "York", from the borough of North York. The store was relocated to 500 Division street in the Victoria Shopping Center (as it was originally called) which was Cobourg's one and only mall in 1956. He and his wife operated a small scale operation at first, but soon had to employ more staff as the success of the business grew larger and larger.
In the mid 70's, his two sons Dean and Jody joined the business upon returning to Cobourg after their education. A number of renovations took place through the 80's to reflect the success of the business and in 1990 York Super Pharmacy moved to a different location in the mall. That move saw the pharmacy grow to a full service shopping experience of 12,500 sq. ft. Other stores included a Dominion grocery store, a coin laundry, the Met and a restaurant.
