- Description
- Birds-eye view of shopping centre, showing Metropolitan Store, Dominion Store, and York Super Pharmacy, Division Street, Cobourg.
- Notes
- Located on the east side of Division Street, south of the tracks. The original York Pharmacy is still located here. Cobourg's store was established in May 1956 by Seymour Pepper. After graduation from the University of Toronto as Pharmacist, Mr. Pepper purchased York Super Pharmacy which was located on Avenue Road in Toronto. Hence the name, "York", from the borough of North York. The store was relocated to 500 Division street in the Victoria Shopping Center (as it was originally called) which was Cobourg's one and only mall in 1956. In 1990 York Super Pharmacy moved to a different location in the mall.
