- Picture is entitled "Cobourg- A closer look".This fine example of Greek Revival Architecture opened in 1836 as the Methodist Church's Upper Canada Academy. In 1841, it was incorporated as Victoria College with Rev. Egerton Ryerson as its first president. In 1892 it joined with the University of Toronto and moved to that city. It was a military hospital for awhile, then a mental hospital (Ontario Hospital) till the 1970s. It is now a Retirement Residence. Oversize.
