- Description
- Cameron Cottage was located at 61 King St. East.
- Notes
- Cameron Cottage was built around 1854 possibly by a Henry Terry. Little is known about the original owner, but it acquired the name in the 1880s when Clara Cameron, the granddaughter of Captain Walter Boswell purchased the home. It was located in the highly desirable area that the Cobourg Summer Colony resided, as it was sandwiched between the grand Arlington Hotel and the Columbian Hotel. It was bought by Ella Harriss in 1896 and as Ella and her husband Charles often toured the world, they rented out the cottage, mostly to the Daintrys. When Ella died she left the cottage to the Daintrys who, depending on the season moved between Cameron Cottage and the Poplars.
