- Notes
- Cobourg's original arena was a wooden building on the north side of University Ave West between Division and George Street and owned by the Ley brothers. In 1942 the roof collapsed and the arena was operated for a couple of years without a roof. In 1947 citizens began a campaign for a new covered arena with artificial ice and the first hockey game was held January 1950. A fire swept through the building in 1953, and the present building was rebuilt and reopened February 1954. Another arena was built later on, named the Jack Heenan Arena to honour Mayor Heenan.
