- This view is looking south to Lake Ontario from what is now known as Ontario Street. Historicallyy know as Lover's Lane or Love Lane, Ontario Street south led directly to Lake Ontario's West Beach. Seen here is the former residence of the John T. Field family, which in later years became the principal part of the "White Castle" motel complex, then the "Shady Rest." On the other side of the street is the site of the long demolished Cedarmere Hotel.
